You will learn what makes these birds such incredible hunters, as well as find out about the threats they are facing today. At the end of the program, there will be an opportunity to take photos with the raptors. Registration is required for all participants and children must be accompanied by an adult. During the walk, you will learn about the plants and animals that make our park a thriving ecosystem. Please dress for the weather and mulched trails. Learn about these women from around the world and see their discoveries throughout the universe. The planetarium is usually experienced by sitting on a cushion or lying on the floor. Attend this classroom conversation to learn about the seasons of ticks, how to protect yourself, and dispel some myths. A naturalist will lead observations, identifications, and the basics of birdwatching. Chairs and binoculars will be provided but you are welcome to bring your own. Birds are very resourceful, using materials from their habitat to make their nest stronger or more comfortable. Join our naturalist in an exploration of different bird nests and decorate your own! Every team will meet at the Hanson Park Nature Center for a quick training. Afterward, it is up to each team where they should look in Hanson Park for the highest biodiversity. Prizes for the team with the highest species count! A phone, or iPad is required for each team to take photos.
