Painted Patriotic Quilt Squares All Ages Design a patriotic quilt square and paint it on a 1'x1' wooden canvas, to be displayed in Franklin Regional Park through 7/4. Pick up your square beginning 6/2 and return anytime before 7/2. M-W 6/2-7/2 Free Decorate Your Wheels Workshop, Parade & Puppet Show All Ages Bring your bike, wagon, wheelchair or scooter to this workshop and get it “parade-ready” to ride around Franklin Regional Park, ending at the Hillsboro Pavilion for a show by Beale Street Puppets. Food trucks with a variety of food for sale. Live music from Loudoun Jazz Ensemble at 8:45 pm followed by fireworks at 9:30pm, accompanied by live music from Loudoun Symphonic Winds. Tanabata: A Japanese Celebration
Immerse yourself in this traditional celebration that includes a tea ceremony, crafts and kimonos. Connect with new cultural experiences as you try your hand at origami or kirigami, make a fish print (gyotaku) and add tanzaku to the trees in our Sculpture Garden. A special tea ceremony will take place in the Arts Center gallery; all other events are near the Sculpture Garden & Pond. End the evening with a lantern float on our pond for a serene and reflective end to our celebration.
