These programs can fulfil requirements for many adventures, journeys, badges, etc. Adult must accompany scouts. Leaders and chaperones are free. Minimum fees apply. Stop along the trail to read, interact, and immerse yourself in the exciting story. After the stroll relax at a comfy campfire and roast delicious marshmallows (provided, Halal available). M 10:00-11:30am 9/2 Free Creepy Crawly Campfire All Ages What creeps beneath the leaves? What skitters under the logs? See what we can find and meet some crawly critters up close and personal. Campfire and roasted marshmallows (provided, Halal available) follow this hands-on experience. M 12:00-1:15pm 10/14 Free Turkey Time Campfire All Ages Practice turkey calls as we wonder the trails. See where these majestic fowl frolic. After the walk enjoy a campfire and roast delicious marshmallows (provided, Halal available). F 10:30-11:15am 11/1 Free Group Campfires All Ages Bring your group to join a naturalist for some campfire fun. We’ll build the fire and supply the marshmallows and sticks. CAMPFIRES Story Stroll & Campfire MULTIAGE INTERPRETIVE PROGRAMS For the following programs, children MUST be accompanied by an adult unless noted. Minimum numbers required to run programs; please register in advance. Park Pals Ages 2-4 Enjoy the outdoors with your grown-up pal. Walk the trails, visit the ponds, and meet live critters on different themed adventures throughout the park. Don’t forget to wear appropriate outdoor clothing for a romp in the woods! Discovery Room Adventure All Ages Stop by the Visitor Center any day of the week between 9:00am-5:00pm to visit with our live animals and explore a wealth of interesting items. Check out interesting displays, partake in activities, or join in on a Community Science Project. Themes vary so stop by often! CMP Open Houses All Ages Find out what life was like in our 1779 Lanesville farmhouse or comb through 100s of natural items in our Frogshackle Nature Center. Enjoy this hands-on experience for all ages every second Saturday of the month. Sa 1:00-3:00pm 9/14 Free Sa 1:00-3:00pm 10/12 Free Sa 1:00-3:00pm 11/9 Free Family Fishing Day All Ages Enjoy a relaxing morning fishing at our stocked ponds. Don’t worry if you don’t have equipment or experience. Staff will be available to provide assistance and bait. Poles are available on a first come, first served basis. Participants age 16 and above will need a valid VA fishing license to catch fish. Create Your Own Experience All Ages Have a special interest you would like to explore here at Claude Moore Park? Join together with a Park Naturalist and create your own unique park experience.
