Winter 24-25 This past year Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS) was proud to open new trails at our two newest parks, Goose Creek Pointe Park and Heron Overlook Park.

In October, LPAT was officially renamed and branded as Loudoun’s Trails and Waterways (LTW). Heron Overlook Park will be the first trail to utilize the new LTW trail signage and trail markers that were designed to provide clear and informative guidance to visitors. The trails at Heron Overlook Park, located in one of the county’s cultural landscapes, will ultimately connect to Broad Run, Bles Park and the Potomac Heritage National Scenic Trail. The Goose Creek Pointe Park encompasses part of the the goal of Loudoun’s Trails and Waterways, traversing through three different parks, connecting Edgar Tillet Memorial Park and the NOVA Parks Reservoir Park at Beaverdam. We invite you to take time and enjoy these trails and our over 60 miles of hiking trails and walking paths at one of Loudoun’s parks. honors Loudoun County’s unique sense of place, and connects residents to each other and to the county’s natural and cultural landscapes, communities, and destinations. These trails are part of a larger plan to create a Linear Parks and Trails (LPAT) System throughout Loudoun County. The LPAT plan was approved by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors in July 2021 and will ultimately provide an interconnected, countywide linear parks and trails system. The goal of the plan is to add 285 miles of trails in Loudoun over the next decade. The plan offers a roadmap for the county and its partners to build out a braided trails system that protects natural and cultural resources,
