Chime In With The AAA Rhythm Makers Join the AAA Rhythm Makers and experience the joy of playing the hand chimes. This hand chime group is for individuals with early to moderate stage cognitive impairment and their care partners. Musical ability is not needed – just the willingness to have fun and create music together. This group meets monthly at the Senior Center of Leesburg (102 North Street NW). Free 2nd Tu 10:00-11:00am Disease Prevention & Health Promotion The Area Agency on Aging offers evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs and services for older adults, caregivers, and their families. These programs provide information and education to help older adults improve or maintain health-related quality of life through preventing, This evidence-based falls prevention group fitness program combines aerobics, balance, strength and stretching exercises to help older adults improve balance and mobility while helping to reduce the risk of falls. Stay Active & Independent for Life (SAIL) Exercise Class Five full-service senior centers offer a variety of programs and activities for adults 55 and over. The annual membership fee is $36/resident; $54/non- resident. Members receive reduced rates for trips and classes, a monthly newsletter and membership privileges at all senior centers. There is a cost of $4 per meal for adults under 60, and a suggested donation for adults 60 and over, for the congregate lunch program. Facility Rentals Attractive rental space is available for groups of all ages at five full service senior centers in Ashburn, Dulles South, Leesburg, Sterling and Purcellville for meetings, family reunions, special events, birthday parties and more. SENIOR TRIPS The County offers a diverse selection of day and overnight trips, taking seniors aged 55+ to points of interest and special events near and far. Trips are planned and led by PRCS experienced Tour Managers. New interesting and exciting trips are available quarterly on loudoun.gov/SeniorTrips. Participants Loudoun County Adult Day Centers are open Monday-Friday from 7:30am- 5:30pm. Our structured therapeutic programming is designed to create success and enjoyment. The range of activities include music, art, yoga, gardening, mentally stimulating games, nature, sensory and creative activities, evidence- based exercise programs, and community outings. Our person-centered care includes cueing and prompting to preserve independence for as long as possible, assistance with personal needs, medication management, nutritious hot lunches, snacks and monthly health monitoring. Limited transportation is available to some areas. Fees are based on a sliding scale. Caregivers Adult Day Centers provide respite for those needing support and time away from caregiving, as well as provide a partnership in the caregiving journey as care needs change. CAREGIVER SERVICES Family Caregiver Education Series Caregiver education programs offer learning opportunities for older adults, caregivers and family members on topics related to aging.
