LUCKETTS BLUEGRASS (All Ages) Listen to the music that made the Old Schoolhouse famous! Bluegrass is back for several shows this Fall. Doors open at 6:00pm and shows start at 7:00pm. TROUT DERBY (All Ages) Get hooked on fishing at Franklin Park’s annual Trout Fishing Derby! Join us at the pond for a morning of family fun and fishing. Volunteers will be on hand to teach you how to bait, cast, and hook your catch. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Anyone over the age of 16 years must have a valid Virginia State freshwater fishing license to participate. Limited fishing poles and bait will be available for use. All participants must pre-register. Partner organizations will also have animals seeking a forever home in honor of Adopt-a-Dog month. Join your friends on our large playground, outdoor basketball court or open area for basketball, flag football, and kickball. Travel just six miles from Purcellville for a Party at the Park at Philomont Community Center. Admission includes popcorn, and a slice of pizza or a hot dog! PHILOMONT VILLAGE PET SHOWCASE (All Ages) Do you have a special pet? A dog, cat, rabbit, chicken, lizard, or pony? Or even a special stuffed animal? Bring them out to PCC’s Park to share them with your community! A super fun day of sharing our beloved pets. Awards given to all. Location: Philomont Community Center 111705-01 Free Su 10/1 12:00pm-2:00pm NOT-TOO-SCARY HALLOWEEN TRAIL (Ages 2 & up) Meet your trail guide at the Sculpture Garden. As you walk through the park, actors that you meet along your way tell the tale in short vignettes. What “not-too-scary” surprises are in store? Trail walks begin every 15 minutes. Dress appropriately and wear good walking shoes.
