CAREGIVER SERVICES

SENIOR TRIPS The County offers a diverse selection of day and overnight trips, taking seniors ages 55+ to points of interest and special events near and far. Trips are planned and led by PRCS experienced Tour Managers. New interesting and exciting trips are available quarterly on loudoun.gov/SeniorTrips. FAMILY CAREGIVER EDUCATION SERIES Caregiver education programs offer learning opportunities for older adults, care- givers and family members on topics related to aging. These programs enhance the ability of caregivers and family members to provide (informal) care for as long as appropriate. For more information about these programs, call 571-258-3490 or email aaasupport@loudoun.gov. VIRTUAL CAREGIVER SUPPORT GROUPS Meets the third Saturday of the month from 10:00am-11:30am. VIRTUAL EARLY STAGE DEMENTIA SUPPORT GROUP Meets the second Wednesday of the month from 10:00am-11:00am. Please pre-register by calling at 703-737-8741 or email aaasupport@loudoun.gov. CHIME IN WITH THE AAA RHYTHM MAKERS Join the AAA Rhythm Makers and experience the joy of playing the hand chimes. This hand chime group is for individuals with early to moderate stage cognitive impairment and their care partners. Musical ability is not needed – just the will- ingness to have fun and create music together. This group meets monthly at the Senior Center of Leesburg (102 North Street NW). Free 2nd Tu 10:00am-11:00am DISEASE PREVENTION & HEALTH PROMOTION The Area Agency on Aging offers evidence-based disease prevention and health promotion programs and services for older adults, caregivers, and their families. These programs provide information and education to help older adults improve or maintain health-related quality of life through preventing, treating, and reducing the effects of chronic conditions. INFORMATION & ASSISTANCE The Elder Resources Information and Assistance program is a confidential service that helps inquirers identify their specific needs through assessment, education, advocacy and assistance. Aging Program Specialists empower individuals, care- givers and allied professionals in the decision making process to determine the best possible options for their particular needs. SENIOR COOL CARE Fans and limited summer cooling assistance is available May 1 - Oct 31 for Loudoun County residents aged 60 years and older who are income eligible.

ACTIVITIES & FEES Five full-service senior centers offering a variety of programs and activities for adults 55 and over. The annual membership fee is $36 resident; $54 non-resident starting July 1. Members receive reduced rates for trips and classes, a monthly newsletter and membership privileges at all senior centers. There is a cost of $4/ meal for adults under 60, and a suggested donation for adults 60 and over, for the congregate lunch program. FACILITY RENTALS Attractive rental space is available for groups of all ages at five full service senior centers in Ashburn, Dulles South, Leesburg, Sterling and Purcellville for meetings, family reunions, special events, birthday parties and more. YOUTH

STORYTIME GONE WILD (Ages Infants-6) There’s never been a storytime like this! We will put our bodies in motion as we explore nature stories and wildlife topics each month through interactive play.
