Music For Dessert: Terry O’Neill & Mike Henry Ages 16+ This live music series will “sweeten” your evening with a mid-week performance for in-person and livestreaming audiences. Bring a prepared story that is 5-7 minutes in length in any format and step up to the mic to share it with others in this community series. Storytellers and listeners welcome; everyone needs a ticket. This month’s theme is “Still Life” and we welcome stories about being still, life in general or even a still life painting that affected you. The theme is meant to be encouraging, not limiting. Each week is a different genre of music -- attend the whole series at a discount. Kristin Rebecca plays original and traditional folk songs and tunes alternating between playing the Celtic harp and the acoustic guitar to back her vocals. She has performed with concert series, listening rooms, art centers and major festivals, over 1,000 shows in more than 160 cities in 35 states, D.C. and Canada. Festivals include the Philadelphia Folk Festival, Atlas Intersections Festival, the Smokey Mountain Songwriters Festival and Artscape. W 7:00-8:00pm 10/21 $15 Tanglewood Marionettes: The Dragon King Ages 2+ An underwater fantasy based on Chinese folklore, The Dragon King tells the tale of an intrepid Grandmother who journeys to the bottom of the sea in search of the elusive Dragon King, and the answers to why he has forsaken the land above. Colorful sea creatures, an exciting adventure, and a Dragon King that will knock your socks off! All this and more can be found in this award-winning production. W 10:00-10:50am 10/28 $5 Blue Sky Puppet Theatre: Pig Tails Ages 2+ Mrs. Picklebottom and her students, Suzy, Buster, and Chester, have a full day ahead of them. Chester’s dad is the class helper, there are shenanigans at the weather board and some arguments at recess. But their teacher helps them to work together to perform some class plays of their favorite tales. You will be there with them, singing along and watching them act out the stories of “The Three Billy Goats Gruff” and “Jack and the Beanstalk”, Presented by Blue Sky Puppet Theatre; run time 40 minutes with a meet and greet afterwards. Music For Dessert: The Great French American Songbook Ages 16+ Award-winning, Arlington based VERONNEAU are an husband- and-wife duo featuring Quebecoise vocalist Lynn Veronneau and UK guitarist Ken Avis. Their shows delight and captivate all ages with multilingual performances of jazzy, retro, soulful original songs and classics. ”The Great French American Songbook” is a unique bilingual show, full of surprises and great music. The music of Edith Piaf, Charles Aznavour, Trenet, and guitarist Django Rheinhardt evoke the classic age of French chanson and beyond. Artists exhibit works that depict the silent drama of objects, inviting viewers to slow down, look closely, and rediscover the beauty within ordinary things. 10/7-11/1 Free Family Connection, memory, and belonging will be on display through the artwork of this exhibit, celebrating the many ways we define and experience family. Through painting, photography, sculpture, and mixed media, this exhibition invites visitors to reflect on the people and relationships that shape our lives. 11/5-11/22 Free Gingerbread Dreams Decorated wooden panels become festive gingerbread houses, created by the elementary and middle school children in our CASA and YAS programs in Loudoun County. 11/23-1/3/2027 Free
