SAIL: Stay Active & Independent for Life This evidence-based falls prevention group fitness program combines aerobics, balance, strength and stretching exercises to help older adults improve balance and mobility while helping to reduce the risk of falls. Fee is $25 for a 12-week session. Participants are encouraged to attend 2-3, 60-minute classes per week. Schedule can be found online in the monthly newsletter on the Ashburn Senior Center website. Registration is not available online. Participants MUST register in person at the senior center. Call for more information. M-F 10:00-11:00am ongoing Free 944632-01 EVENTS Folklore & Fairy Doors Field Trip Explore the history and global folklore of fairies, sprites, and wood nymphs on a visit to Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve – Loudoun County’s hidden gem. After exploring the mythical origins of fairies, participants will handcraft a whimsical fairy door to display indoors or outdoors—just like the charming fairy doors now appearing in garden nooks, city sidewalks, and other surprising places. The program also includes lunch, an optional woodland stroll and transportation to/from the Ashburn Senior Center. In person or online registration is available.
