At Loudoun County Parks, Recreation and Community Services (PRCS), our mission is to connect communities and enhance quality of life through exceptional programs, facilities, and services. As we step into the fall season, we invite you to walk, play, create, and grow with us. This year, we’ve made exciting strides to improve our offerings and expand access for all. Similar to our efforts to create state-of-the-art facilities, such as the opening of Ashburn Recreation & Community Center, we also work to renew existing facilities. Our 132-acre Bles Park has reopened following significant improvements. The park now features a fully updated, multigenerational playground with inclusive, ADA-accessible surfaces, a new outdoor exercise area, six picnic pavilions, safety netting for sports fields, and a canoe/kayak launch along Broad Run. Mark your calendars for PRCS Kids Fest on Labor Day (Monday, September 1) at the Segra Field parking lots. Now in its fourth year, this award-winning event offers a full day of free, family-friendly fun with interactive activities for kids of all ages. PRCS also continues to serve Loudoun’s older adults with compassion and care. Our Senior Cafés and Adult Day Centers prepare and deliver more than 178,000 hot, nutritious meals each year. These meals provide far more than nourishment—they offer meaningful social engagement and support for thousands of residents. For over 400 homebound seniors, they are a critical lifeline. The 1,400+ volunteers who support our senior programs contribute more than 62,000 hours of service annually—a contribution valued at over $2 million. Their dedication reflects the heart of our organization and the strength of our community. As the leaves turn and we enjoy the beauty of the season, I encourage you to explore everything PRCS has to offer—from parks and trails to events, classes, and volunteer opportunities. Thank you for allowing us to be part of your daily lives. F A L L
We look forward to seeing you out and about this fall.
